The cardiophon 2.0 has been specially designed for cardiology, with a completely re-engineered chest piece, sound transmission system, and binaural. Its acoustic design supports clear auscultation in the frequency range between 200 Hz and 500 Hz, which is particularly relevant for detecting key heart sounds. The cardiophon 2.0 is suitable for the precise auscultation of both adults and children.

Auscultations of the heart

A stethoscope can be used to listen to the sounds the heart make as it contracts and relaxes. By listening to various locations within the area of the heart, a doctor can identify abnormalities such as murmurs, clicks or any irregular patterns. For a healthy adult, two sounds are expected from a heartbeat: a “lub” and a “dub”, forming the familiar “lub-dub” sequence.
